Built for a son and daughter
A new trampoline stands in the garden. It has been assembled and the ground anchors are in place. Above all, everyone is looking forward to the first jumps.
FROM IDEA TO PRODUCT
A trampoline in the garden. A storm. A question: what could work better? This sparks the AIRSHELTER idea of additional water ballast — and later, modular garden rooms.

01
A new trampoline stands in the garden. It has been assembled and the ground anchors are in place. Above all, everyone is looking forward to the first jumps.

02
The children enjoy the trampoline. The new addition becomes a favourite spot in the garden and a memory to treasure.

03
Another two to three days later the weather changes. Wind and rain hit the trampoline. Everyone stays indoors that night.

04
The view through the window is disheartening: the trampoline is damaged despite its ground anchors. This experience becomes the starting point for the idea.

05
The first question was simple: could additional ballast be placed around the trampoline? This led to the idea of a clipped-on skirt containing separate, water-fillable cells.

06
We are developing a modular entry product from this idea. Fit, attachment, handling and performance must be tested with real samples. Suitable individual components are intended to be replaceable.

THE IDEA BEHIND ZIPAROUND
ZipAround is conceived as a continuous structural connection principle. Compatible components are intended to form a modular system whose connections contribute to the integrity of the structure.
01 / CONNECT
Compatible components come together at their intended connecting edges. The continuous connection forms part of the structural design.
02 / WORK TOGETHER
The connection is intended to transfer forces between the connected components and contribute to the integrity of the supporting structure.
03 / REPLACE INDIVIDUALLY
A component approved for replacement is intended to be renewed individually. This connects the structural idea with our approach to care and repair.
The structural ZipAround concept is complemented by service closures for removable covers. The existing HydroLounge detail views illustrate this cover replacement. Air and water cells have their own envelopes and seals; lighting components use separate electrical connections.
The design of a structural connection, its permitted loads and its assembly procedure will be specified and tested for each component.
TAKING THE IDEA FURTHER
The first question grows into a shared design approach: clear functions, compatible modules and components that can be replaced individually. HydroSkirt and AIRSHELTER take this idea from additional ballast to a garden room.

The idea develops further: distinct garden rooms with an air structure, for rest mode on a compatible trampoline.
